"Basilica Chymica" was Oswalds crolls Magnus Opus

Oswald Croll was born in Germany around 1560 and studied medicine at the University of Marburg. He became renowned for his alchemical research and contributions to the field. Croll's works focused on chemical medicine and the practical application of alchemy

Published in 1609. The book explores the theoretical and practical aspects of alchemy, with a particular emphasis on medicinal alchemy.

Reminder that alchemy encompasses more than just material transformations. It also has a spiritual and philosophical dimension, aiming to achieve inner transformation and enlightenment. This aspect, known as spiritual or inner alchemy, involved metaphorical processes and symbols representing the purification and refinement of the soul or spirit.

It's important to note that alchemy's goals extend beyond the physical and material realm. Alchemists sought to understand the underlying principles governing nature and the cosmos. Their work is influenced by Hermeticism, Gnosticism, astrology, and the belief in the unity of all things.
